PALO SANTO is a tree, the wood of which is of spiritual significance to indigenous people in South America. The wood is considered sacred, and its Spanish meaning is “holy wood”. Hailing from Peru and surrounding South American countries, this aromatic wood has been used for hundreds (if not thousands) of years for smudging/saining/incense purposes and is actually the predecessor of modern day frankincense and myrrh.
